#StayHomeButNotSilent

HIGHLIGHTS

During the month of April 2020, La Via Campesina and allies carried out creative mobilisations, and amplified the voices of rural communities and small-scale food producers.

The solidarity actions reminded the world that peasants and rural workers continued to work in the farms and feed the world, even in times of the pandemic.

On International Day of Peasants' Struggle La Via Campesina released an illustrated version of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Peasants and Other People Working in Rural Areas (UNDROP)

Through compelling visuals that were carefully crafted by Sophie Holin, this book aims to popularise the contents of the UN Declaration and spread awareness about it among rural communities. The book, originally produced in English, Spanish and French, will also be available as an open-source document for social movements to adapt and translate into local languages.
